Triathlete Pushes Himself For TitleExcerpt from: Orlando Sentinel By Lori Carter GRAND ISLAND -- Most days Rick Copley hits the road with his laced-up running shoes, pounding the pavement or pedaling his mountain bike. Other days are spent swimming endless laps. The 33-year-old Grand Island resident is preparing for the grueling Xterra World Championships in Maui, Hawaii. The Oct. 29 triathlon consists of a 1,500-meter swim, a 32-kilometer bike ride and a 10K run. Copley said he trains 15 to 20 hours a week to prepare for triathlons throughout the season that begins in April and ends in October. He said his mind is always working while he trains. FULL STORY
