Teen, Father to Compete in Triathlon ChampionshipExcerpt from: Norwalk Citizen News By Frank Szivos Call Brien McMahon High School junior William Ruehle "Iron Boy" and his father, Kevin, "Iron Man." Both are tri-athletes who have run, swum and biked into the Nissan Xterra National Championship Sunday at Lake Tahoe in Nevada. William, 16, will compete in the 15-19-year-old group and Kevin, 49, in the 45-49-year-old category. Both earned a trip to the nationals through the Nissan Xterra Points Series, which consists of more than 50 races in the United States. Amateurs compete in up to three events to earn points toward an Xterra regional championship title. With each regional title comes an invitation to compete for a national title. The Xterra national competition consists of a 1.5-kilometer swim, a 10-kilometer run and a 32-kilometer bike ride. FULL STORY
