XTERRA Makes Its Way to Utah at Wolf Mountain

RACE #1 IN THE 2008 UTAH TRAIL RUN SERIES

XTERRA is known for its extreme, off-road events, and on June 7 they are bringing the adventure to Eden, Utah with the XTERRA Wolf Mountain Trail Run 10K.

Taking place at the Wolf Mountain Resort, the event will lead runners over 6 miles of beautiful, scenic trails. Usually known for its snowy slopes, the course has melted leaving a soft, wooded wonderland for athletes to navigate through.

The event starts at the base of the Howling Wolf chair and works its way up the Wandering Wolf Trail with a 1000-foot, heart-racing climb to the top of Bayot's Boulevard. From the peak, runners will kick over to the new Green Mile Trail with its single-track and gradual downhills. The grassy woodlands and shaded bends set the stage as runners travel over the trails for high-adventure fun. Bringing runners home, the course will follow Bayot's Boulevard as they plummet down "Oh My Heck" Hill to the finish line.

This is the first of four races in the XTERRA 2008 Utah Trail Run Series. Runners will accumulate points for each race they complete, and stakes are high with the top finishers earning free entry to this year's XTERRA National Trail Run Championship on September 27 in Bend, Oregon. From there, runners will have the chance to compete at the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship December 7 at the breathtaking Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii.
