XTERRA Runners Make Their Way to Morristown for 10K Trail Run

RACE #3 IN THE XTERRA TENNESSEE TRAIL RUN SERIES

Runners are getting ready to travel to Tennessee for the XTERRA Panther Creek Trail Run 10k on August 2, 2008.

Taking place at the Panther Creek State Park nestled on the shores of Cherokee Lake within the Cumberland Mountains, runners will travel over 10 kilometers of trails inside the 1435 acre park. The wide dirt and gravel trail course follows Panther Creek into the woods, explores Old Farm Trails, and winds its way back to Point Look Out. Athletes will also find themselves running over some technical single tracks to give them the ultimate, off-road XTERRA experience.

Panther Creek State Park is 5 miles outside of Morristown, Tennessee and is easily accessible from Virginia and North Carolina. The trail run event takes place on Saturday and is followed by the XTERRA Panther Creek Off-road Triathlon on Sunday creating a weekend-long event with challenges for every athlete. Free camping for racers on both Friday and Saturday night, kayak rentals, showers, and a playground guarantee fun for the entire family.

The XTERRA Panther Creek 10K Trail Run is the final opportunity for racers to earn points toward their 2008 XTERRA Tennessee Trail Run Series total and will determine who will be awarded free entry to the XTERRA National Trail Running Championship Xduro on September 27 in Bend, Oregon.
