XTERRA Runners Get Ready to Start Series at Camp Eagle

RACE #1 IN 2009 XTERRA CHESAPEAKE TRAIL RUN SERIES

The XTERRA Chesapeake Trail Run Series kicks off its 2008-09 season with the XTERRA Camp Edge 5km Trail Run on Saturday, October 18th in Alloway, New Jersey.

Race director Kelly Dees has created three exciting and healthy ways to experience the beauty of Camp Edge. The Muddy Bottom Run is the most fun athletes will have running through 3.2 miles of dirt, water obstacles and some extra special Camp Edge surprises. For those wishing to stay clean, there will also be a 5km run and walk leading over the area’s scenic bridges, hills and trails.

Proceeds from these events will benefit the Camp Edge Summer Program’s efforts to send inner city youth to camp. For just $10 per person, camping will be available to participants the night before the race.

The runner raising the most money for the event will be rewarded with a brand new GPS Navigation System, and a variety of other prizes will also be given away to those bringing in the most contributions.

Since this is the first race in the 2008-09 XTERRA Chesapeake Trail Run Series, runners will be eager to start their series totals with top scores. Athletes earning the most points at the end of the series will be awarded free entry to next year’s XTERRA Trail Running National Championship in Bend, Oregon.
