XTERRA Back in Georgia for Battle at Big Creek

RACE #2 IN 2008-09 XTERRA GEORGIA TRAIL RUN SERIES

October 9, 2008 - XTERRA is heading back to Georgia for the 1st Annual Battle at Big Creek Trail Run scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2008 in Roswell. Runners looking to "ditch the city" can choose between the 6km and 11km challenges running along the Big Creek Trails.

This wooded course offers a little bit of everything from tight single track with some technical sections to rolling double track over mud, roots, and lots of rocks. The 6km race follows a single outer loop of the area's mountain bike trail system with twisty turns and steep climbs.  Runners competing in the longer 11km event will follow this same route but repeat the loop.

The XTERRA Battle at Big Creek is the second of six events in the 2008-09 XTERRA Georgia Trail Run Series and runners will be out in full force to earn points toward their series totals for their chance to be crowned an XTERRA Regional Champion and win free entry to the 2009 XTERRA Trail Running National Championship taking place next September in Bend, Oregon. All are welcome and runners new to XTERRA are encouraged to come out to see what the Trail Run Series is all about.

Coming up in December, runners also have the opportunity to compete in the first-ever XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 7 at the spectacular Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii.

Awards: Cash, medals and prizes to overall top 3 male and female finishers for each race. Medals to top 3 male and female finishers in each age group. Zorrel Dri Balance Shirts guaranteed for early registrants.

Entry Fee: 6km - $25 before November 2, $30 late, $35 race day
11km - $30 before November 2, $35 late, $40 race day
