XTERRA Trail Run Series Closes 2008 with Crystal Cove

RACE #3 IN THE 2008-09 XTERRA SOCAL TRAIL RUN SERIES

In a record setting time, Southern California runners maxed out the field for the XTERRA Crystal Cove Trail Run taking place on December 14, 2008 in Laguna Beach, California.

Always the fastest selling race in the XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series, this year Crystal Cove was no different. The runners lucky enough to secure their spot will explore the El Moro area of Crystal Cove State Park and its 2,400 acres of undeveloped woodlands. With two distances to choose from, the 5km trail run is a great introduction to the world of trail running while the 15km trail run is great for those more experienced. A variety of terrains includes everything from fire roads to single track trails to challenge the athletes.

After the XTERRA Topanga Turkey Trot Trail Run on November 29, runners are gearing up for another holiday season and the XTERRA Crystal Cove Trail Run. Top finishers in the 15km event will receive points toward their XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series total. Those finishing the series with the most points will earn free entry to next year’s XTERRA Trail Running National Championship in Bend, Oregon.

When: Sunday, December 14, 2008: 15km – 8:00am / 5km – 8:30am.
Where: Crystal Cove State Park (8471 Pacific Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA)
Awards: Finisher medals guaranteed to first 250 finishers.
