XTERRA Makes First Stop in 2009 New England Trail Run Series

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the XTERRA Muddy Moose Trail Run is less than a month away coming up on April 26th in Wolfeboro, NH. With two distances to choose from, a 22km endurance event and a 6km fun run, all runners are encouraged to participate.

Starting at Kingswood Regional High School, the XTERRA Muddy Moose Trail Run will be adventurous, fun, and anything but clean. According to race director Fergus Cullen, “These are trail races, full of dirt roads and single track. The 22km race involves short, steep hills, logs, roots, water and mud, while the 6km run offers fewer hills without the promise of less mud.”

Proceeds from both races will help support the Kingswood Regional High School Track and Cross Country teams. As an additional benefit, runners are encouraged to bring any new and unworn t-shirts to be collected on behalf of the Missionaries of Charity founded by Mother Theresa. These t-shirts will be distributed in Haiti to clothe the “poorest of the poor.”

In recent years, the XTERRA Muddy Moose Trail Run has been named “Best of New Hampshire” by the Foot Loose and Fancy Free Category of New Hampshire Magazine. Fee: $22
Awards: Awards will be handed out at the end of the race for overall winners and race group winners. First 100 entrants will receive a T-Shirt or a more imaginative race giveaway TBD.
Proceeds: Money from both races will benefit the Kingswood Regional High School Track and Cross Country teams.
