XTERRA to Host Philly's Next Trail Run at Hibernia Park

For the second installment of the 2009 XTERRA Philly Trail Run Series, XTERRA and Mid-Atlantic Events are heading to Hibernia Park in Coatesville, PA. Finding a niche by hosting most of its races on Wednesday evenings, the XTERRA Philly Series continues this successful trend with the XTERRA Hibernia Park Blast Trail Run on May 20.

The 5-kilometer event features a challenging mix of off-road obstacles including twisting, root-covered dirt trails and lung-burning climbs. With a post-race pizza party, a beautiful wooded setting, and a large prize raffle after the race, runners are encouraged to bring the whole family.

As race number two of five in the 2009 XTERRA Philly Series, trail runners will be eager to accumulate more points toward their series totals. Athletes with top scores after the season finale will be crowned with the Regional Champion title and receive free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 13 in Bend, Oregon. Here Philly’s finest will go head to head with the nation’s best trail runners. From there, runners have the chance to compete at the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 6 at the spectacular Kualoa Ranch in beautiful Hawaii.
