XTERRA "Stoaked" For Next New England Trail Run

2009 XTERRA NEW ENGLAND TRAIL RUN SERIES FINALE

The XTERRA STOAKED Trail Run is the third and final race in the 2009 XTERRA New England Trail Run Series. The 16-kilometer course takes place on the world class Dartmouth XC Facility in Hanover, NH utilizing both the single track and open cross country ski trails. The varying terrain is never flat and gains approximately 600 feet of elevation.

After last year, the event is known to be an all out mud-fest as runners could only be seen by the whites of their eyes and smiling teeth as they emerged from the rain soaked forest. When asked to describe the course, race director Chad Denning commented, “What can I say about this course except that it is just ridiculously perfect! Great short ups, downs, and all arounds. We hope people will come and join in the fun.”

The XTERRA STOAKED Trail Run event is part of a weekend full of festivities including an off-road triathlon the following day. As the final race of the 2009 season, it acts as the last opportunity for New England athletes to earn points toward their series totals. Those finishing with top scores will be crowned XTERRA Regional Champions and earn free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 13 in Bend, Oregon. Then on December 6th, the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship will welcome trail running’s best to the beautiful Hawaiian island of Oahu, and since no qualification is necessary, all are welcome.
