XTERRA Starts Brand New Season in South Carolina

RACE #1 IN 2010 XTERRA SOUTH CAROLINA TRAIL RUN SERIES

After a hugely successful inaugural 2009 season, the XTERRA South Carolina Trail Run Series is exploding back onto Greenville’s Paris Mountain Trails for its 2010 debut on November 7th. Over last year’s three-race series, hundreds of runners toed the line eager to see for themselves what adventures XTERRA could bring to their area.

Race director and 2009 XTERRA Regional Champion for his age division, John Lehman, organizes some amazing races, and XTERRA is thrilled to team up with his crew again this year. To kick things off, the XTERRA Paris Mountain Trails 11-kilometer event is the most adventurous yet and will challenge area runners with the long climb to the top of Paris Mountain. This steep, rugged and rocky course winds along the beautiful hills of upstate South Carolina and offers great scenic views of the surrounding mountains.

Even if runners have never raced with XTERRA, the top 15 competitors in each age group will be awarded series points, so this is the perfect opportunity to start the season off right. Those ending the series with the highest scores will be crowned XTERRA Regional Champions and win free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship next fall.

Where: Paris Mountain State Park – 2401 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29609
When: Saturday, November 7, 2009 – 8:00am
Entry Fee: $20/$25 after Oct. 24/$30 race day ($5 discount to Greenville Track Club Members for pre-registration)
