Known as one of the fastest courses in the XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series, Black Mountain’s reputation held strong as hometown hero Brandon Mills, 30, set a new 15km record of 1:02:20, breaking his own record set just last year. Series regular Patrick Baldwin, 34 of Del Mar, crossed the line just over a minute later while Vista’s Jesse Haynes rounded out the men’s top three in 1:04:26.
