Dix Out Runs the Field Again!
On a Hot and Humid night in Pottstown, PA Dan Dix of Coatesville ran a strong and tactical race to out run the field for his third win of the year! With the High School track season over a few of the areas best young runners came out to challenge themselves on the tough hilly trails at Warwick Park. At the midway point a pack of 6 runners were close together but as they hit the hills Dix attacked and never looked back taking the win by 33 seconds over second place finisher Greg Linsky of West Chester with 16 year old Brett Kelly just 1 second behind him. The womens race was won by Glenna Champion of West Chester beating last race winner Charty Burkhart by 1:09 as Jory Wormsley crossed the line in third. Another new course layout was loved by all the runners and the two stream crossings made things very interesting. Brian Hess a XTERRA Trail Runner veteran said the new course was a blast and the hills were perfect for him as he went on to place 2nd in a very tough 40-49 age group. Derek Schultz one of the Philadelphia Series top runners who finished second in his age group at Nationals in Bend, OR last year said that was one tough course but it sure was fun!
