Belize village gets new school
SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK: Some friends in Los Angeles are part of an organization called 4theWorld that builds schools and community projects in third-world countries. The XTERRA Foundation was able to help a small village on the western border of Belize that had 120 children of all grade levels crammed into a small two-room schoolhouse. 4theWorld donated time, labor and materials to fund three projects: a classroom, an eating area, and a fresh water system. The school is now more than a classroom because it provides food, shelter and security as well as education in a single facility.
