XTERRA Kids is a super-fun off-road triathlon for competitors aged up to 15 years that gives kids their own dose of adventure. The race includes the same mix of disciplines and off-road terrain as the adult races but tones down the length and the technical difficulty so kids can complete it with a smile on their face from start to finish.
NOTE: All kids are welcome to participate. Whilst we will award prizes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category the event is conducted so that everyone is recognised and celebrated no matter how fast or slow they are.
This is a Youth World Championship Qualifier race. Slots will be offered to the top 5 male and female athletes of the following Youth Divisions:
M/F 14-15 (“Youth A”)
Youth Championship:
This race will serve as the Youth A Asia-Pacific Championship, awarding the top male and female finishers in the division an Asia-Pacific Champion jersey to honor their titles as regional champions. Additionally, as a qualifier for the Youth World Championship, the top five male and female finishers in each division will earn slots for the pinnacle race of the Youth World Tour.
SOLOS: Solo competitors must complete the entire course alone.
RELAY TEAMS: A relay team with either 2 or 3 competitors who divide the course between them (either doing one leg each if a team of 3 or one person doing 2 legs if a team of 2). Age categories are determined by the age of the oldest competitor in the team.
The kids event is limited to kids aged under 16 (age categories are according to your age on 31 December 2025).
4 different wave starts to separate the older / stronger kids, from the younger ones:
STARTS:
3:10pm Youth A (14-15yrs) boys and girls
3:15pm 12-13yrs individual boys and girls, plus
11-12-13-14yrs relay teams, plus

3:20pm 10-11yrs individual boys and girls, plus

The course for all legs is clearly marked and kids can follow it unguided – adding to the sense of accomplishment by completing it themselves.
The run and ride legs are not overly technical and should be fun and achievable for kids of all ages
Marshals will be located at key points around the course and a medical team onsite to provide assistance if needed.
