Taking a shortcut and/or cutting a trail lace or trajectory is not allowed and may result in disqualification. A runner must stay on the designated trails that are marked and/or specified as a course. It is the responsibility of the runner to know the designated course. The absence of marking on the course is not an excuse for taking a shortcut. Manual and electronic checkpoints (using the chip located in the runner's bib) are set up at strategic checkpoints to ensure that the runner has completed the entire course. Any failure to check in will result in the runner's disqualification. A thorough check will be carried out before the results are validated. Any violation of the regulations as well as any unsportsmanlike behavior observed by the race director or one of the human controls results in disqualification (definitive withdrawal from the race). See Article 9 - Faults.

Article 6: Overtaking

Runners being overtaken must give way to the runners overtaking them. Runners must announce their intention to overtake verbally. It is the responsibility of the faster runner to overtake safely. Slower runners must yield to the passing runner upon first request, moving to the right when possible. In the event that two runners try to take the lead, the runners do not have to yield their positions to the other runner. However, a runner cannot interfere by blocking passage or otherwise impeding another runner's progress.

Article 7: Refreshments

"TO’A TRAIL AND TŪROA TRAIL" Event

Water will be available for everyone before the start and after the finish.
Refreshment stations will be set up along the routes. There will be three designated "refuge" zones.

"MANAHUNE TRAIL" 12K - "FUN TRAIL" 3K and "TAMARII TRAIL" 1K Events

Water will be available for everyone before the start and after the finish.
Refreshment stations will be set up along the routes, positioned closer together than during TO’A TRAIL AND TŪROA TRAIL to prevent overheating. Some runners tend to start too fast and do not hydrate enough. To avoid dehydration issues, the organization will provide water stations every 3 km. The refreshment stations will include water, sugary drinks, and fruits.

Clean Zones
Clean zones will be installed at the refreshment stations. You will be able to dispose of plastic waste, gel wrappers, etc., only in these designated areas. They will be clearly marked and delimited.
Any athlete caught by a volunteer, race official, or medical staff deliberately throwing waste on the course and failing to retrieve it after being notified will be disqualified.

Article 8: Support Crew

"TO’A TRAIL AND TŪROA TRAIL" Event

The only authorized assistance is one person assigned to a runner, designated in advance, possessing a specific badge. This assistant will be allowed to help their runner in the three designated "refuge" zones. They may provide liquids, food, and clothing.

Outside these zones, no assistance or accompaniment is permitted throughout the race. However, limited mutual aid from another athlete competing in the same event is tolerated (such as food, water, or anti-cramp massage).

"MANAHUNE TRAIL" 12K – "FUN TRAIL" 3K – "TAMARII TRAIL" 1K

No assistance will be allowed for these three events. However, parents may register for the 1K race and run alongside their child.

The XTERRA MOOREA TRAIL RUN "TO’A TRAIL AND TŪROA TRAIL " event is reserved for trained individuals in good physical condition. The race is held in a single stage, individually, at each runner's own pace, while taking into account the time limit (Cut-Off).
