XTERRA Whistler Youth Triathlon provides a great opportunity to experience the XTERRA off-road triathlon format, combining an open-water swim, MTB and a trail run. Distances range from 200m-750m swims, 8K-12.6K bike courses, and 3K-5K runs. Saturday 14th Sept - Youth A 14-15 Super Sprint. Sunday 15th Sept - Youth B 16-17 & Junior 18-19 Sprint. Youth aged 14-19 have the chance to qualify for the XTERRA Youth World Champs in 2025.

14-15 Years, Youth A
Super Sprint Triathlon 200m swim, 8km bike, 3km run.

SWIM
Our youth Super Sprint race course will be a 2 lap swim with a beach exit between laps. Each lap will be 100m for a total of a 200m swim. 

BIKE
The youth A bike will be 2 laps of the XTERRA Kids 9-13 course, making it ~ 8km. To make the second lap, athletes will follow the signage for lap two and continue on Tin Pants to start lap two. Then once they come off Fountain of Love for the second time, they will follow Tin Pants to where lap two started but this time take a left on lower Panorama (signed) and follow signage back to Lost Lake park and T2. 

RUN
The youth A run is a one lap loop of approximately 3km. Athletes will leave transition, turning right and heading for Molly Hogan, they will follow Molly Hogan, taking a left on Why Johnny Can’t Read then left again back on Molly Hogan. They will follow Molly Hogan until Polers Rd which they will turn left onto and climb up and take a left on Packard Goose. From there they will follow Packard Goose > I’m not Satisfied > Why Johnny Can’t Read until they turn left onto Molly Hogan and then shortly after a left onto Grand Wazoo. They will follow GRand Wazoo all the way back to Lost Lake Park and to the finish line.

The Sprint distance event is a single 750m loop. Expect wetsuits to be mandatory.

The bike course is all within the Lost Lake biking/hiking trails and ranges from gravel road, to double-track greens to more technical blue single track trails. There are no black trails on the bike course. Trail ratings in Whistler may differ from your local riding area. The course does include rooty and rocky sections, and technical uphills and downhills. Some trails are ridden in opposite direction to traditional flow, and the course includes a challenging hike-a-bike section. Athletes are strongly encouraged to pre-ride the course. Sprint Category will complete a single 11.6km loop of the Bike Course.

The run course is also within the Lost Lake biking/hiking trails and will range from gravel road, to double track green to more technical single track blue trails. There are no black trails on the run course. The Sport Category will complete a single 5km loop with a turnaround at an aid station.

1. Online registration will close at midnight on September 11th, 2024, unless sold out prior.

2. 5% GST will be applied at checkout on your registration.

3. 5% GST & 7% PST will be applied at checkout on merchandise purchases.

4. An online processing fee will be applied to all online registrations and merchandise purchases.

5. VISA, MC, Amex, and Discover Card accepted.

6. All funds payable in Canadian Dollars.

7. Your credit card statement will show a charge from Race Roster or XTERRA Whistler for your registration into this event.
