A POV course preview of the bike and run sections that will decide the next class of USA Champions and the penultimate stop of the XTERRA World Cup.
This is the highest elevation of any XTERRA course on the circuit. The unofficial motto is “Can I get some oxygen, please!” and nowhere will that be felt more than on the single-loop 24K bike loop that climbs the infamous ski slope to 9,400 feet above sea level.
The 10K trail run adds another 1000+ feet of climbing through the signature aspens that line the trails. Most of the climbing is pre-loaded in the first 5K, allowing athletes to empty the tank on the final stretch.
The USA Championship will also serve as Stop #6 of the XTERRA World Cup. Follow here for start lists, daily updates, results, and talking points as the penultimate stop of the series unfolds in the waters and on the trails of Avon, Colorado.
