Is there any Compulsary Kit?

All competitors must carry compulsory kit. The lists can be found on the page for the specific race distance. This kit is for your safety due to the often unpredictable and quickly changing mountain conditions and isolated nature of the route. Spot checks will be in place and anybody found without the required kit will not be allowed to race.

Is there a minimum age to take part in this event?

The minimum age may vary for each race distance due to the National Governing Body guidelines. Please select the distance from the event page to find specific Minimum Age requirements along with other race information.

Do you offer Charity Places?

We work very closely with a number of charities to support their fundraising. If you are a charitable organisation, please contact us for further information.

Do you have a waiting list?

When an event sells out there will be an option to join a waiting list. Once a space becomes available you will be emailed, you will then have 24 hours to purchase the space before this is offered to the next person on the list.

I have a disability, can I still participate?

We are keen to make our events as accessible and inclusive as possible, however, due to the location of some of our events and the course terrain there may be limitations. Please contact us at info@alwaysaimhighevents.com to discuss your requirements and how we could support you.

Can I defer or get a refund if I am injured or unwell?

If you took out Refund Protect insurance when you bought your ticket you need to check your confirmation email and follow the details contained. You will deal with the insurance company directly to claim your refund.

If you did not take out insurance, please refer to the guidance under ‘I can no longer take part, what are my options?’

I am no longer able to take part, what are my options?

Option 1: Transfer to another competitor

You may transfer or sell your place to another person wishing to take part in the event. This can be done free of charge, at least ONE calendar month prior to the event via your Etchrock account, details of which can be found on your entry confirmation email.

If there is less than 30 days before the event, transfers to another competitor must be made at registration at the event and will occur a £10 admin fee. Only the participating athlete needs to attend registration to complete the transfer.

Transfers between athletes must be completed through the correct channel so that we have the correct participant information and contact details in the event of an accident. DO NOT give your bib to someone without completing an official transfer. Running on another athlete’s bib contradicts NGB rules and will result in disqualification.

Option 2: Ticket Deferral

If there is at least one calendar month before the event you can defer your entry and receive credit to your Etchrock booking system account for the amount paid, minus a £10 admin fee.

You can use this credit to enter the same event the following year or any event that comes before it.
A ticket cannot be deferred more than once.
Deferrals may be used against entries of a higher value, on payment of the difference.
Deferrals can only be used against a single transaction and cannot be exchanged for cash. No change or refund will be given.

Do you provide nutrition?

Yes. Water, energy drinks and gels are available at drink stations. Please see online route maps for approximate feed station locations. The most up to date information will be detailed in your final instructions.

Please select the distance from the event page to find any cut-off times for the race along with other information. Cut-off times are in place for the safety of the athletes and our marshals.

Can I use walking poles?

You are permitted to carry and use walking poles if you wish to.

Can I use headphones?

The use of bone conduction headphones is permitted. Use of any other headphones is prohibited. This ruling is at the Race Directors' discretion in line with UKA rules due to runners needing to pass on single-track trails.

What is the best way to travel there?

TRAIN

Direct services (including Trains from London to Bangor) take you to the popular North Wales coastal destinations from most parts of Britain.

The closest station to Llanberis is Bangor, which is just under 10 miles away. A taxi from here will cost approximately £30 or the Sherpa S2 bus will take you from the station and cost between £3-£5. It is possible to cycle.

There’s quick, straightforward access from the North West along the M56 and A55. Motorway links with the Midlands are good too, and the same roads – the M6, M5 and M1 – also bring Eryri (Snowdonia) within easy reach of the South of England.

Irish Ferries and Stena Line operate regular and high-speed services to Holyhead from Dublin.

Where can I park?

Parking information is included in your Final Instructions which will be emailed to you at least 10 days prior to the event.

We will provide low-cost parking for the duration of the event on the outskirts of Llanberis. Please be aware that parking within the residential areas should be avoided, use only official event or council car parks when attending the event.

How can people volunteer?

We are always looking for people to join our amazing team of event volunteers and marshals.

Marshalling can be a great way to get involved, enjoy the atmosphere and spend time with friends, as well as meeting new ones. Time after time our athletes tell us it's the marshals' support and enthusiasm that makes the event for them - we are known to have the BEST event marshals in the world!

From feed stations to directing runners, managing transition, tail ending or giving out medals on the finish line we will help find a job that suits you and welcome anyone of any age and even dogs (in certain positions). Many clubs and community groups join in and tell us it's a great team bonding experience as well as a lot of learning for younger members and a great way to raise funds for their club or group.
