Reaching Lošinj is quite simple, with several ferry, and travel options to suit your needs. Here’s an overview of the best ways to get there:

Getting to Lošinj by Ferry:

• Rijeka to Lošinj: Jadrolinija offers a daily high-speed catamaran service from Rijeka to Lošinj. The route includes stops on Cres and occasionally other islands, providing a scenic journey.

• Pula or Zadar to Lošinj: Kapetan Luka operate a catamaran connecting Pula and Zadar, with a stop in Lošinj. This route also visits Unije and Susak before Lošinj, and Ilovik and Silba after. It runs year-round, increasing frequency from once weekly in the off-season to five times a week during peak summer.

• Zadar to Lošinj: Jadrolinija runs a car ferry from Zadar to Lošinj, stopping at several smaller islands en route.

• Susak or Unije to Lošinj: Jadrolinija also operates a local ferry service connecting Lošinj with the islands of Susak and Unije, making inter-island travel convenient.

Driving to Lošinj:

• Traveling by car involves first reaching the island of Cres. From there, you’ll drive across the swing bridge at Osor (which operates at 09:00 and 17:00) to reach Lošinj.

• The drive offers picturesque views and the freedom to explore at your own pace.

Flying to Lošinj:

• Lošinj Airport (IATA: LSZ, ICAO: LDLO) is a small airport near Mali Lošinj, accommodating both domestic and international flights.

• If flying internationally, Rijeka Airport on the nearby island of Krk is the most convenient large airport.

• From Rijeka Airport, you can take a bus from Omišalj directly to Lošinj, simplifying your journey.

Beyond the distance, the key difference between the Full Distance Triathlon (FD) and Sprint Distance Triathlon lies in the allocation of World Championship (WC) slots:

•⁠ ⁠Full Distance Triathlon (FD): Provides WC slots for adult divisions only (20+, Elite, and Challenged).

•⁠ ⁠Sprint Triathlon: Provides WC slots exclusively for Youth B (16-17) and Junior (18-19) divisions.

Transfers and Substitutions:

Participants may transfer their registration to another individual or defer their entry to a future event, subject to a 20 EUR transfer fee.

Participants may transfer their registration to another race in the same event, subject to a 20 EUR transfer fee.

If a participant wishes to transfer or defer their registration for the triathlon event, they must notify the event organizers in writing via email at [email protected].

This option is available until 15 days prior to the start of the event. 

Force Majeure:

The event organizers shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation under this agreement if the delay or failure is caused by any circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, or natural disasters.

By registering for the triathlon event, participants agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in this cancellation policy.

Cancellation by Participant:

If a participant wishes to cancel their registration for the triathlon event, they must notify the event organizers in writing via email at [email protected].

Refunds will be provided according to the following schedule:

Cancellation more than 60 days before the event: Full refund minus a processing fee.

Cancellation less than 60 days before the event: No refund will be provided.

Cancellation by Event Organizers:

In the event of unforeseen circumstances such as extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, or any other situation beyond the control of the organizers, the event may be canceled or postponed.

If the event is canceled by the organizers, participants will be notified as soon as possible, and efforts will be made to reschedule the event.

If rescheduling is not possible, participants will be offered the option to transfer their registration to a future event or receive a full refund of the registration fee, taking into account any unrecoverable costs incurred by the organizers.

Force Majeure:

To qualify for age group European Triathlon events, you need to race in XTERRA Croatia as a licensed triathlete (Croatian Triathlon Federation day license or national triathlete annual license), all according to HTS (Croatian Triathlon Federation) rules.

Yes, if you're a Croatian citizen with valid Medical certificate you can buy HTS (Croatian Triathlon Federation) day triathlon licence on premise (cash only) and take part in the Croatian Cross Triathlon Championship (XTERRA Sprint Cross Triathlon).

Please have your QR code on your phone ready to scan (no need to print). This will be on the confirmation email you received when you booked from Active.com.

You can leave your bags with the XTERRA team at HQ. While we will be present on site we cannot guarantee the security of your valuables since we will be in a public location.
