XTERRA TransTahitienne Trail Marathon takes athletes across the stunning island terrain and scenery of Tahiti.
Article 1 – The Event
The VSOP XO association and the company FENUA EVENTS are co-organizing the XTERRA TRANSTAHITIENNE TRAIL RUN on Saturday, August 30, 2025, on the island of TAHITI. The XTERRA TRANSTAHITIENNE TRAIL RUN is organized under the authority of the Athletics Federation of French Polynesia (FAPF).
Article 2 – Race Committee
The committee is composed of the Race Director, the President of VSOP XO (or their representative), the Chief Judge of the event, and any person chosen by the Race Director for their skills. The Race Committee is authorized to make all decisions necessary for the smooth running of the race and to rule on any claims made during the event. All decisions are final.
Article 3 – The Race

The distance indicated in this regulation is given as a guide and is subject to change at any time.
Article 4 – Race Details
Saturday, August 30, 2025: XTERRA TRANSTAHITIENNE TRAIL RUN: 36.5 km / 980 m elevation gain / Ages 20 and up / Start at 8:00 a.m. / Solo format
The start will be given near the football stadium by the Teva I Uta Town Hall, TAHITI. The finish is after the metal bridge in the Papenoo Valley, TAHITI. Maximum race duration: 7h30, with a cut-off at 3:30 p.m.
Article 5 – Participation
The event is open to all male and female competitors born in 2005 or earlier (minimum age 20 in 2025).
Bib pickup is subject to the participant's registration file being complete and validated online. On race day, unpaid or incomplete registrations (e.g., invalid medical certificate) will not be accepted. No refund will be granted in such cases.
Article 6 – Registration Process
Registration is available via the website www.fenuamoove.com. Athletes must complete the online registration form and upload the necessary documents. Payment is only available by credit card after the file is complete.
Deadline to register: Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (Tahiti local time)
If switching events (e.g., to trail) before the deadline, the athlete must pay the price difference to confirm the change.
Once registration is validated (file + payment), no cancellations or refunds will be processed except for athletes who purchased cancellation insurance (2,000 XPF). They may cancel and be refunded under the following conditions:
Cancellation Insurance: Full refund without justification, up to 24h before the race. Cancellation must be requested by Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. by email to contact@fenuamoove.com (timestamp as proof).
Once a participant collects their race pack, the insurance becomes void.
Athletes without insurance cannot request a refund, transfer, or deferral.

Medical Certificate: Required for all non-licensed athletes. It must state: "no contraindication to competitive running / trail / sports". Validity: 1 year max on race day.
Foreign Athletes: Must upload a certificate (dated < 1 year) in English or translated into French. Even if licensed through a World Athletics affiliate.
Article 7 – Bib Collection & Race Pack
Race packs containing bibs must be collected by presenting the bib collection voucher at Papeete Town Hall on Tuesday, August 26 and Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
(Note: Date, time, and location are subject to change.)

Article 8 – Race Format & Course
The XTERRA TRANSTAHITIENNE TRAIL RUN is designed for trained athletes in good physical condition. The race is a solo event completed in one stage, at each runner’s pace, with mandatory cut-off times.
Each participant is personally responsible for their own conduct and safety.
The course outlined in this regulation is indicative and may change at any time.
Safety
Race safety will be ensured by a team of doctors, FPPC paramedics, and firefighters from the Commune of Teva I Uta.
4x4 vehicles and ambulances will be on standby. Aid stations will be set up along the course.
Course Markings
The route will be marked with reusable directional signs and biodegradable ribbon.
Volunteers will be stationed at tricky locations.
A sweeper team will follow to secure the end of the race.
Manual and electronic checkpoints (via the bib chip) will be located at key points. Missing a checkpoint = disqualification.
All finish times are subject to verification.
Overtaking
Slower runners must yield to faster ones upon request.
Faster runners must announce their intention clearly and pass safely.
Blocking or deliberately impeding another runner is prohibited and may lead to disqualification.
Equipment Checks
Random checks will be conducted before entering the start area.
Participants without the required gear as listed in Article 10 will not be allowed to start.
No refund will be issued in case of disqualification for non-compliance.
External Assistance
No outside assistance is allowed during the race.
Only help from another registered participant is tolerated.
Pacing or escorting by a bike or vehicle (including at the finish) is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.
Cut-Off Times
To ensure safety, cut-off times are enforced to prevent runners from finishing after dark.
Cut-off times will be announced on the organizer’s website and repeated during the pre-race briefing.
Runners still on the course beyond the cut-off will be withdrawn.
The organization reserves the right to change cut-off times in case of force majeure or safety concerns.
Article 9 – Disqualification & Withdrawal
No refund will be issued for disqualification or withdrawal.
Bib Regulations
Bibs must not be altered (cut or covered with sponsor stickers).
They must be worn visibly on the front throughout the race.
Failure to comply = disqualification.
Course Respect
Cutting the trail or taking shortcuts is prohibited and punishable by disqualification.
Runners must follow the marked route.
Lack of markings is not an excuse.
Timing antennas and human spotters will monitor compliance.
Any unsportsmanlike conduct may result in permanent exclusion.
Withdrawals must be reported to race staff or medics.
Anyone unable to return on their own will be assisted by the rescue team.
An emergency contact number is printed on the bib and must be used in case of withdrawal.
Article 10 – Mandatory & Recommended Gear
Mandatory:
Water container with at least 1L (2L strongly recommended)
Bib attached to front of body and visible
Emergency blanket
Whistle (often integrated in hydration packs)
Reusable cup (no cups at aid stations)
Poles are allowed.
Recommended:

Food
Article 11 – Aid Stations & Drop Zones
Aid Stations:
Available at the finish (water, sweet drinks, energy drinks, fruit, snacks).
Runners must carry their own supply of nutrition and water (min. 1L).
Multiple aid stations will be available on the course with salty and sweet options.
⚠️ No disposable cups at aid stations. Bring a reusable cup or use your hydration gear.
Water reserves are part of the mandatory equipment.
Outside aid or unauthorized supplies along the course are prohibited.
Drop Zones:
Trash bins will be available at aid stations for gel wrappers, bottles, etc.
Littering outside these areas = disqualification.
Article 12 – Insurance
Organizers are covered for civil liability by Générali policy no. 58228666D.
Participants run under their own responsibility and waive legal action against the organizers for any damage incurred or caused.
Runners are strongly advised to carry their own civil liability and evacuation insurance.
Bib transfers are strictly prohibited.
Transfer voids the organizer’s liability and may result in both parties being held accountable.
Running without a bib is forbidden. Any such person is fully responsible for accidents they cause or suffer.
Article 13 – Safety / Assistance
Runners are their own first line of safety.
In case of an accident, participants must assist and immediately notify race HQ or a volunteer (emergency number is on the bib).
The sweep team, medical staff, referees, or race committee may force a runner to stop for safety reasons (weather, physical condition, misconduct, etc.).
Failure to report a voluntary withdrawal may lead to legal action for recovery costs.
Article 14 – Complaints
All complaints must be submitted in writing within 1 hour after finish, signed by the complainant, and accompanied by a 10,000 XPF deposit.
If valid, the deposit will be refunded.
Otherwise, it will be retained by VSOP XO to support athletic development in Moorea.
Complaints based solely on hearsay will not be considered.
Article 15 – Penalties
Organizers may carry out random checks along the route.
Hidden referees may be embedded in the race.
Violations = immediate disqualification. Examples include:
Course cutting
Not wearing bib properly
Unsportsmanlike behavior or foul language
External assistance
Being paced/escorted by bike, including at finish line
Littering → disqualification + future event ban
All athletes must comply with anti-doping rules. Random drug tests may occur.
Article 16 – Awards
Podiums:
Top 3 men and top 3 women will receive a trophy.
Prize Money:
1st place (M/F): 25,000 XPF
2nd place (M/F): 12,500 XPF
3rd place (M/F): 5,000 XPF
⚠️ Winners must be present at the awards ceremony (Saturday, August 30 at 3:30 p.m.)
Unclaimed awards will be donated to event-supporting associations.
Article 17 – General Provisions
By registering, each competitor accepts and agrees to all terms of this regulation.
Rules and event details are available on www.xterraplanet.com.
Uncovered situations will be resolved by the Race Director, whose decisions are final.
Organizers are not responsible for any accident or theft.
Each participant is responsible for their equipment’s safety and compliance.
In case of extreme weather or force majeure (e.g., pandemic, administrative orders), the event may be changed or canceled without refund.
Image Rights:
By registering, participants authorize VSOP XO and FENUA EVENTS to use their image for promotional purposes with no time limit.
Opt-out requests must be made in writing.
Photo/video professionals must be accredited by organizers.
No photo or video content may be sold to partners or media without permission.
Environmental Commitment:
Sustainability is a top priority.
Littering = disqualification + future ban from VSOP XO events.

Article 19 – Taho’e Challenge – 3rd Event
Both the XTERRA TRANSTAHITIENNE TRAIL RUN and XTERRA TRANSTAHITIENNE RUN & BIKE are part of the Taho’e Challenge 2025.

Held at the end-of-year ball, in the presence of a bailiff.
Several special prizes to be awarded.
5. Eligibility:
To qualify for the Taho’e Challenge or prize draw:
Must register for and complete all 4 events
No-shows or withdrawals = disqualification
6. Next Event: XTERRA Triathlon
The fourth stage of the Taho’e Challenge will take place in Tahiti during the XTERRA Triathlon, scheduled for October 18–19, 2025.
