The biggest stage in off-road triathlon has opened with an all-new test for XTERRA’s fastest, launching the chase for the 2025 World Cup title in the crystal-clear waters of Geographe Bay before tearing through the rapid, rowdy trails of Meelup Regional Park.

The fastest start to the pro series yet, the Short Track race kicked off the season-long battle for series points for the first time. Next, the Full Distance race will deliver the first real endurance test, with the results from both races deciding who leaves Australia at the top of the leaderboard.

The start list features an exciting mix of global stars and local talent, with a strong European contingent of World Champions and World Cup race winners balancing the transition from winter training to an entirely new terrain—all while facing a fresh group of local athletes racing on home soil.

Sloth Nielsen and Billouin Take Short Track Honours

Jens Emil Sloth Nielsen opened his campaign with a dominant win in the fast-format race, his swim and run now seemingly matching the strength of his bike. Meanwhile, Billouin made a surprise move to the top of the podium after a near-flawless performance from Paties was overturned after the finish, leaving her with a DSQ. The Dane and the Frenchwoman walk away with the lion’s share of points—and their names at the top of the leaderboard heading into the Full Distance race.

WORLD CUP Series Info
The XTERRA World Cup is the world's premier off-road triathlon pro series, where the sport’s top elites go head-to-head in a condensed circuit of Full Distance and Short Track races. A points-based battle where every turn, climb, and descent matters, each race is a fight for a share of the series prize purse and the pursuit of becoming the next XTERRA World Cup Champion.

The 2025 World Cup will feature eight stops and 11 races across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America. With no joker rule in play, every race counts toward the overall standings. Full Distance races award series points to the top 30 finishers, with the winner claiming 100 points. Short Track races are invitation-only, featuring the top 30 qualifiers, with the winner earning the maximum 75 points.

The Short Track showdown in Trentino, Italy, will serve as the series finale, where the next XTERRA World Cup Champions will be crowned ahead of the 2025 XTERRA World Championship.
