Overview
Back to Series Page
Stop 4 of the World Cup heads deep into the forests of Alabama backcountry, where a Full Distance race and a fast-paced, livestreamed Short Track showdown are set to unfold on the tight singletrack trails of one of North America’s most iconic venues.

As the first stop of the pro series in North America, Oak Mountain sees a number of regional favourites enter the fray as they prepare to bring local knowledge to a battle against a host of international names. Veteran athletes Suzie Snyder, Branden Rakita, and reigning North American Champion Sully Middaugh will all be on the line, up against a wave of global contenders, including breakout Aussie Ben Forbes and the still unbeaten French duo Felix Forissier and Alizée Paties.

Athletes To Watch
Top contenders, local favorites and the full start list.
Katie Button
CAN
Steady, experienced, and always composed under pressure, Button brings regional and World Championship pedigree to her first World Cup race of the season. A physiotherapist by trade, she brings the same methodical focus to every race.
Alizee Paties
FRA
Three for three so far this season, Paties enters Oak Mountain undefeated and showing no signs of slowing down. Strong across all three disciplines, she’s been nearly flawless through the first half of the series.
Steve Croucher
USA
With strong ties to the region and a growing presence on the World Cup circuit, Croucher returns to Oak Mountain looking to make his mark on a course that rewards both patience and precision—two things he’s been quietly building.
Brittany Schroeder
USA
One of the top American women on the rise, Schroeder has proven she can hold her own in deep fields. A former collegiate swimmer with a strong technical game, she’s a name to watch on her return to World Cup racing.
Suzie Snyder
USA
A veteran both in XTERRA and on this course, the multi-time USA Champion returns to Oak Mountain with the kind of experience that only years of racing—and winning—on this terrain can bring. She knows what it takes to perform here.
Porter Middaugh
USA
The youngest of the Middaugh dynasty steps onto the World Cup stage for the first time. With championship pedigree in his veins, Porter makes his elite debut to show just how deep the family’s off-road roots run.
Benjamin Forbes
AUS
Back on a course that favours strong riders, the reigning APAC Champion returns to familiar ground after a quieter outing in Weston Park. When the terrain turns tough, Forbes tends to rise.
Felix Forissier
FRA
Unbeaten in the World Cup this season and coming off back-to-back wins in Greece and Weston Park, Forissier arrives in Alabama as the man to beat across both race formats—armed with speed, stamina, and surgical race sense.
Sullivan Middaugh
USA
The reigning North American Champion returns to World Cup racing after taking the tape in one of the most thrilling Short Track finishes of all time. With raw talent and a rising trajectory, Middaugh continues to show world-class potential.
Aneta Grabmuller
CZE
A podium threat in any format, Grabmüller’s lightning-fast swim and Short Track speed make her one to watch on the trails of Oak Mountain. With a background in duathlon and a steady rise through the ranks, she’s earned her place among the frontrunners.

WORLD CUP Series Info
The XTERRA World Cup is the world's premier off-road triathlon pro series, where the sport’s top elites go head-to-head in a condensed circuit of Full Distance and Short Track races. A points-based battle where every turn, climb, and descent matters, each race is a fight for a share of the series prize purse and the pursuit of becoming the next XTERRA World Cup Champion.

The 2025 World Cup will feature eight stops and 11 races across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America. With no joker rule in play, every race counts toward the overall standings. Full Distance races award series points to the top 30 finishers, with the winner claiming 100 points. Short Track races are invitation-only, featuring the top 30 qualifiers, with the winner earning the maximum 75 points.

The Short Track showdown in Trentino, Italy, will serve as the series finale, where the next XTERRA World Cup Champions will be crowned ahead of the 2025 XTERRA World Championship.
