A course built for bike specialists, the final North American World Cup stop mixed plenty of tech with a Full Distance course designed to carry speed through every section.

Set in Empire 47, one of the largest mountain bike centres in eastern North America, the venue offered over 75 kilometres of purpose-built trails for the race directors to work with. Since the first shovels of dirt were turned in 2013, it has become the epicentre of XTERRA Québec—and in 2025, for the second year running, it marked the final World Cup stop in North America before the pro series headed into the final stretch in Europe.

A strong men’s field was led by Felix Forissier, coming in on a three-race win streak and looking to edge his way closer to the golden jersey currently held by his older brother. For the women, Alizée Paties chose to rest and recover during this stop after winning every race in the series so far, leaving a battle between Marta Menditto, Emma Ducreux, and Hannah-Lee Young to play out as they looked to close the gap at the top of the leaderboard.

After the mid-season reset, this was where the World Cup picked up again—to see who still had the power and speed as the series headed into its second half.

Felix Forissier and Marta Menditto Set the Pace in Quebec

Absolutely no momentum lost over the mid-season break. World Cup racing returned at full speed on the fast-flowing trails of Empire 47, with Felix Forissier and Marta Menditto each claiming a vital win and 100 series points in Quebec. Felix needed just 2:31:17 to take the men’s title, while Marta sealed the women’s race in 2:59:33. With just two Full Distance and two Short Track races remaining, the pro series now heads into the final straight—through Czech, Germany, and the ultimate showdown in Molveno.

Full Distance - Story of the Race

A lightning-fast start in Lac Delage as Quebec kicks off the second half of the pro series.
Eyes firmly set on reclaiming the golden jersey, Felix Forissier leads the men out of the water in 21:18.
Emma Ducreux and Romy Spoelder set the pace for the women, exiting the water in 24:50.
Hitting the trails of Empire 47, Ben Forbes unleashed the skills he'd been showing in practice all week, laying down a bike split of 1:21:00.
Locking in the second- and third-fastest bike splits of the day, Arthur Forissier and Kieran McPherson worked to close the gap to the front.
Meanwhile, up front, Felix Forissier and Michele Bonacina continued the game of cat and mouse that had started at the gun.
A strong ride from France’s Emma Ducreux kept her in contention through the middle section of the race.
But it was on the bike that Marta Menditto began to take charge, putting down the best split of the day—1:36:11.
Starting her strongest discipline in the lead, Marta Menditto never looked back as she tore through the 11K run in the Laurentian forest.
Pushing Forissier to the very end, Michele Bonacina clocked an impressive 46:30 on the final section.
But it was the 30-second gap that Felix Forissier pulled out on the run that proved decisive in the battle between the Frenchman and the Italian.
Felix Forissier is now unbeaten in four consecutive Full Distance races and within striking distance of taking the series lead.
A first World Cup win for Marta Menditto—and another return to the podium for both Emma Ducreux and Romy Spoelder.
Quebec done and dusted. Next up: the notorious party in Prachatice as the series heads to Czech.

WORLD CUP Series Info

The XTERRA World Cup is the world's premier off-road triathlon pro series, where the sport’s top elites go head-to-head in a condensed circuit of Full Distance and Short Track races. A points-based battle where every turn, climb, and descent matters, each race is a fight for a share of the series prize purse and the pursuit of becoming the next XTERRA World Cup Champion.

The 2026 World Cup features seven stops and eleven races across Oceania, Europe, North America, and Asia. The Joker Rule returns, giving each athlete one Full Distance joker and one Short Track joker to help manage the demands of global travel and reduce the impact of mechanicals. Each race awards points to the top 30 finishers, with a standard Full Distance win earning 100 points and Short Track awarding 75. Stakes rise at the biggest events, with Regional Championships offering 1.2x more points and the series finale offering 1.5x.

In 2026, the series finishes on fresh terrain in Suzhou, China, where Pan Men Square becomes a city-centre stage for the final Short Track showdown before the Full Distance battle around Lake Taihu closes out the season and crowns the next XTERRA World Cup Champions.
