2023 will see a welcome return of XTERRA racing to the country of Spain in a partnership between XTERRA EMEA and renowned Spanish event organiser OCISPORT in a move to develop the XTERRA brand in a country synonymous with off-road racing.   

In partnership with OCISPORT, the XTERRA Costa Brava off-road triathlon will be hosted in the northeast region of Spain, just a short drive up from Barcelona. The race will begin with a 1.5km swim in the Balearic Sea, followed by a 30km mountain bike through rocky, sandy single-track trails in the foothills behind the town of Sant Antoni de Calonge before finishing with a 10km technical trail run along the beautiful, but deceptively tough coastal path.

This will be the first XTERRA off-road triathlon event in Spain since 2016 and will offer 26 qualifying slots for the 2023 XTERRA World Championship in Molveno, Italy on September 23.

Apart from the full-distance triathlon, XTERRA Costa Brava will also include a sprint distance race (750m swim, 15km mountain bike, 5km trail run) and a 15km Trail run to cater for all off-road enthusiasts alike.
