Where to Stay
Prachatice offer lots of hotel rooms for the race week. You can find a list of recommended locations on the event website. We also offer an official XTERRA Campsite if you prefer to sleep in campervan or in a tent. Your stay will be completely free of charge. There won’t be any electricity or running water, there will be portable toilets present. If you want to stay at the campsite, please contact us at [email protected].
How to Get There
The host town Prachatice is easily accessible by car. If you are coming from the north, we recommend using the newly built highway D4 from Prague. From the south, take D3 to České Budějovice and then continue to Prachatice. Travel by train is possible but not recommended, as Prachatice is only served by regional lines.
You can also travel by plane - Prague or Linz Airports are 150 km away from Prachatice, Munich Airport is 250 km away.
We recommend using Mapy.cz for car navigation. It is well used in Czechia and has the best results here.
What to do in Prachatice
Start your visit with a walk through the historical center, where the stunning Great Square serves as the beating heart of the town. Admire the beautifully preserved Renaissance buildings, visit the Prachatice Town Museum, or stop by St. James Church with its impressive tower views. Just a short walk away, you can relax in the city park or explore the educational trail through Libínské sedlo, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Starting Friday, the Great Square transforms into a vibrant event zone with the official XTERRA Expo, featuring outdoor brands, partner stands, and the popular Food Fest with food trucks. Don’t miss the Live Music Festival happening each evening — a perfect way to unwind after training or racing. All athletes are warmly invited to attend the official Opening Ceremony on Friday evening, also held at Great Square — a great opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and meet fellow competitors from across Europe.
