Athlete Guide
Set in the heart of the Abruzzo mountains, the iconic heart-shaped Lake Scanno hosts one of the most scenic XTERRA events in Italy. Surrounded by the landscapes of Abruzzo National Park, the course takes athletes from the lakeshore into the mountains along forest trails, panoramic ridgelines and technical off-road terrain. The race returns to the shores of the lake, where athletes cross the finish line immersed in nature and the unique atmosphere of the XTERRA community.
On Saturday, July 25, 2026, XTERRA Lake Scanno returns for its 13th edition, bringing the XTERRA World Tour back to one of Europe's most iconic race destinations.
Set among the crystal-clear waters of Lake Scanno and the mountains of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, athletes will compete on spectacular off-road courses through nature and the historic village of Scanno.
