Rules & Regulations

Slovak Triathlon Day License

All athletes competing in the Full Distance Triathlon, athletes aged 14–15 competing in the Super Sprint Triathlon, and athletes aged 16–19 competing in the Sprint Distance Triathlon must hold a valid Slovak Triathlon Union licence for race day.

Athletes who do not already have this licence must purchase it during on-site registration. The licence fee is 25 EUR.

The full amount is paid to the Slovak Triathlon Union. Neither XTERRA nor the event organiser benefits from this fee in any way.

Bad Weather Contingencies

The event can be postponed or cancelled in case of bad weather. All athletes will be notified via email and social media. Refund options are in the discretion of the organizer.

Nutrition during the race

Official nutrition partner Vitamin Well will provide isotonic drinks, gels, and other nutrition at all aid stations. You can, of course, bring your own nutrition. Please dispose of any trash only in designated littering zones around the aid stations. Littering outside these areas can result in a time penalty or disqualification.

Warning!

Athletes are only permitted to receive drinks and nutrition from official aid stations. Receiving support from spectators, friends, or family members outside of designated zones is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.

Competition Rules

The race will be held according to the current rules of the Slovak Triathlon Union.

The full version of the rules is available in Slovak here:
https://triathlon.sk/userfiles/files/2025_PRAVIDLA%CC%81%20STU%CC%81_ff.pdf

The rules will also be explained in English during the athlete briefing. Technical Officials will be present on site and will be available to explain any rule if needed.

Withdrawal from the race

In case of withdrawal from the race, please contact nearest organiser or technical official and notify them. This is especially crucial, if you decide to abandon the race during the swim section.

This is important, so that we don't send rescue teams to the race course to find you.

XTERRA World Championship Qualification

Qualification for the 2026 XTERRA World Championship in Ruidoso (USA) is available at this event. XTERRA Slovakia offers a total of 26 slots for age group athletes competing in the Full Distance race. These slots are allocated based on the number of starters in each age group.

For younger athletes, qualification is based on different races:

  • Youth A (14-15) qualify from the Super Sprint race.

  • Youth B (16-17) and Junior (18-19) categories qualify from the Sprint Distance race.

In these youth categories, the Top 5 male and female finishers will receive qualification slots. There is no roll-down process for youth slots.
