The XTERRA South Africa Venue is the Elgin Grabouw Sports Club approximately 1 hour from Cape Town International Airport.

Travelling from Cape Town (as well as Cape Town International Airport) you will take the N2 towards George traveling away from Cape Town, through Somerset West and over Sir Lowrys Pass. Once on the other side of the pass you will turn Left opposite the Peregrine Farm Stall taking the second road you your right (Worcester Road) and then follow the signs to the XTERRA Race Village.

XTERRA South Africa is a TSA (Triathlon South Africa) Sanctioned event so all TSA RULES will apply.

• Age Groupers are allowed a Wetsuit if the water temperature on morning of the event is 24.6 Degrees Celsius and below

• Elite Athletes and Juniors are allowed a Wetsuit if the water temperature on morning of the event is 22 Degrees Celsius and below

The XTERRA Full bike course is about 80% single track and 20% Jeep track. The trails are rated BLUE on the IMBA scale - which is "medium" difficulty. The terrain is mostly rocky and sandy. "The Rock Garden" is the most challenging part. Best would be to ride the course the week before. There will be a longer, easier chicken run to avoid the Rock garden. It's bicycle transportation that is professional, secure, fast and enjoyable!

The run course is approc 85% single track and 15% jeep track. The trails are well defined and not very technnical, except for the Swamble section where athletes will wade down a stream with a rocky bottom. Lifeguards will be present. For maps and course profile, visit our website.

All you racing gear will need to be placed with your bike in Transition.

Should you have an extra bag with a change of clothes for once you have finished, you are more than welcome to hand this in at Registration where you will be given a tag for collection once you are done.

Official Event Cancellation, Withdrawal & Transfer Policy

1.⁠ ⁠Event Cancellation or Postponement (Force Majeure)

Should the Event be cancelled or postponed due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Event Organiser, including but not limited to force majeure, acts of God, extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, communicable diseases, or legislation/restrictions imposed by the Government of the Republic of South Africa, the following shall apply:

•⁠ ⁠If the Event is cancelled more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time, participants will be eligible to receive a 50% refund of the paid entry fee

•⁠ ⁠If the Event is cancelled or postponed within 48 hours of the scheduled start time, participants will not receive a monetary refund. Instead, participants may:

* Transfer their entry to the rescheduled event date; or

* Defer their entry to the equivalent event in the following calendar year.

All refunds exclude third-party service fees, administration fees, processing charges, and any ancillary purchases.

2.⁠ ⁠Participant Withdrawal Policy

If a participant is unable to take part in the Event, the following withdrawal terms will apply:

More than 30 Days Prior to the Event

•⁠ ⁠The participant may transfer their entry to another participant (subject to the official transfer process and fee); or

•⁠ ⁠Cancel their entry and receive a 90% refund

Within 30 Days of the Event

•⁠ ⁠The participant may transfer their entry to another participant (subject to the official transfer process and fee); or

•⁠ ⁠Cancel their entry and incur a 50% cancellation penalty (50% of the entry fee will be forfeited).

Within 7 Days of the Event

•⁠ ⁠The participant may transfer their entry to the following year’s equivalent event; or

•⁠ ⁠Cancel their entry and incur a 100% cancellation penalty** (no refund will be issued).

3.⁠ ⁠Entry Transfers

•⁠ ⁠Transfers to another participant are permitted, subject to a nominal administrative transfer fee.

•⁠ ⁠All transfer requests must be submitted in writing to the Race Office via email.

•⁠ ⁠Transfers are only valid once confirmed in writing by the Event Organiser.

•⁠ ⁠No same-day transfers will be permitted unless expressly authorised by the Event Organiser.

4.⁠ ⁠General

By submitting an entry, participants acknowledge and agree to abide by this Cancellation, Withdrawal & Transfer Policy. The Event Organiser reserves the right to amend or update this policy where reasonably necessary and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

By winning your age group in the Full Distance Triathlon you can earn a slot to enter the XTERRA World Championships.

Youth (14-19)
The top 5 boys and top 5 girls from the categories listed below can also earn a slot to enter the XTERRA Youth World Championships.
- Youth A (14-15): on the Super Sprint Triathlon,
- Youth B (16-17) :on the Sprint Triathlon
- Junior (18-19): on the Sprint Triathlon
