Arthur Serrieres, Juliette Duquesne win XTERRA Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Arthur Serrieres (FRA) and Juliette Duquesne (FRA) won the XTERRA Nouvelle-Aquitaine off-road triathlon elite races with winning times of 2:42:03 and 3:27:18, respectively, in Moliets-et-Villemartin, France on August 6, 2022.
It’s the 18th XTERRA World Tour win for Serrieres, his fourth this season, and second in a row at this event in the south of France. It’s the first big XTERRA win for Duquesne.
In the women’s race, XTERRA newcomer Juliette Duquesne led from wire-to-wire after posting the fastest swim (21:11), which was nearly one-minute ahead of Maria Calleja (ESP) and three-minutes up on the rest of the women’s field. Duquesne then had the third-best bike time and took a commanding lead into the run and crossed the line with three-minutes to spare over runner-up Solene Marnoni.
Marnoni, who races in the 15-19 age group division, posted the fastest bike split of the day - an impressive 2:06:02 - to win the overall amateur title for the second time this year. Last month she placed 11th overall and was the top age grouper at XTERRA France in Xonrupt.
Calleja came in one-minute after Marnoni in third, with pre-race favorite Saleta Castro (ESP) in fourth, and Camille Jobard (FRA) in fifth.

In the men’s elite race Thomas Sauser (SUI) and Francois Vie (POR) were first out of the 1.5-kilometer swim (19:50) in the warm waters of Lac de la Cadie with Serrieres and Felix Forissier (FRA) just seconds behind.
Eventual runner-up Sebastien Carabin (BEL) was a full five-minutes behind out of the swim but came charging back with the fastest bike (1:36:18) and run (41:07) splits of the day to get within striking distance.
On the run, Carabin was able to pass seven-time World Champ Ruben Ruzafa (ESP), who had the lead coming off the bike, but couldn’t catch up to the speedy Serrieres - who has now won 13 of his last 15 full-distance XTERRA races and two World Triathlon Cross Championships since September of 2020.
