The Appalachian Culture Festival – The Ultimate Post-Race Party!

Cross the finish line and step straight into an Appalachian celebration like no other! The Appalachian Culture Festival brings the heart and soul of the mountains to life with live bluegrass music, local artisan vendors, and Southern comfort food that’ll make your race effort worth every step.

Kick back and enjoy traditional storytelling, watch skilled artisans showcase their craft—from blacksmithing to woodcarving to quilt-making—or dance along to foot-stomping fiddle tunes. Families and nature lovers can also take part in the Appalachian Trail Fest Family Hike & Scavenger Hunt, a guided adventure through the beautiful Oak Mountain trails, where kids and adults alike can explore nature, solve clues, and discover hidden treasures along the way.

This family-friendly event will feature a variety of activities, including:

Artisan Demonstrations and Makers Market: Experience traditional Appalachian crafts firsthand, with quilters, potters, ironworkers, dutch oven demonstrations, and other artisans showcasing their skills.

Environmental Education Programming based on the rich culture of the Appalachians!

Live Music Performances: Enjoy performances by local musicians, bringing the sounds of bluegrass and other Appalachian genres to life.

Food Trucks: Savor a variety of culinary delights from local food vendors, offering a range of delicious options for all tastes.

Participation is included with paid admission to Oak Mountain State Park upon entry, with fees of $5 for adults, $2 for children 12 and under, and $2 for seniors 62 and above.

Whether you’re here to celebrate your run, embrace mountain culture, or enjoy a day of good food, music, and adventure with family and friends, the Appalachian Culture Festival is the perfect way to wrap up your XTERRA Appalachian Trail Fest race experience!
