History

Triathlon has a long heritage in Banská Štiavnica, which hosted one of Slovakia’s most renowned triathlon races for over a decade. In 2024, the event proudly joined the global XTERRA family.

Banská Štiavnica, a former mining town, has transformed into a historical gem surrounded by steep hills, over 50 kilometers of marked bike trails, and numerous pristine lakes, locally known as ”tajchy”. This unique environment, combining rich cultural heritage with challenging natural terrain, makes it a perfect setting for an unforgettable XTERRA race.

The historic Trinity Square (Námestie Svätej Trojice) serves as the race center.
